Sure the world wide web is great, but you, you make us salivate... Yes, we love technology, but not as much as you, you see... But we STILL love technology... Always and forever. Our love is like a flock of doves, flying up to heaven above... always and forever, always and forever... Why do you need us? Why do you love us? Always and forever...

I'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

In reviewing the Britpop suggestions and then looking at my CD collection I have come to the conclusion that my album collection is crap. Mainly due to the fact that I sold most of it to Keith and Michael but also because Lilly insists on putting her Mariah CD in with my CDs. As such I need to get some burned CDs from you big fellas.
1. Elastica - Elastica
2. Kenickie - At the club
3. Stone Roses - Stone Roses
4. Shed Seven - Greatest Hits
5. Lush - Split
6. The Charlattans - Melting pot
7. Sultans of Ping - Casual Sex in the Ciniplex
8. McAlmont and Butler - Yes. Just the track as it's impossible to locate an MP3 to buy
9. Gene - Whatever album has For the Dead on it
10. Mansun - Attack of the Grey Lantern.
This is all I can think of for the moment but if any of you were kind enough to burn and send me a copy of any of these I can reciprocate with a burn of anything from my collection. The Postal Service - Give Up is probably the best thing I have bought in a while but we have some pretty random stuff Sam Cooke, FNM, the Bee Gees singles... Alternatively we can figure out an Amazon purchase of equal value to the cost of your burn/postage that I will be more than happy to send over, and remember that a nice warm futon at Hotel Osborne awaits the kind soul that can help me relive the mid 90s. Email me at jamie so we can figure it out.

Indian or not?

Maybe Rob should be on the panel to see if any of these books actually qualify?!

The Best Britpop Album in the World Ever...

Since Lilly recently told me that Hot Hot Heat were ok for a Britpop band and that there is a 10 year retrospective on the Beeb I think it's time I burned a Britpop record for our next house party, Sept 17th for anyone interested in making a short 10 hour flight. I want a band with their best track that reminds you of good times circa 1995.
So far I have:
1. Blur - Parklife.
2. Oasis - Supersonic.
3. Suede - Animal Nitrate.
4. Elastica - Stutter.
5. Pulp - Razzamattaz.
6. Supergrass - Mansize Rooster
.... and this is where I get hazy. I'm sure Keith will say Sleeper and Menswe@r need to be on it and Joe will tell me St Etienne and Stereolab so I need suggestions. Thinking I need songs from Shed Seven, The Charlattans, The Stone Roses, and I was toying with the idea of having some Ocean Colour Scene but then came to my senses. You never know even Stu might have something to say on the blog about this.

Hearty congratulations to Rufous for his speaking role in "How To Start Your Own Country" last night. I am genuinely impressed that you managed to appear in a TV show which also featured Noam Chomsky, and your T-Shirt was very nice too.

I'm even more amazed that, despite being in Amsterdam, you managed to watch your own moment of glory - Dave was in Edinburgh last week and they weren't showing it there!

Keep this up and he might get you your own show, or at least a guest spot on The Mighty Boosh.

Oh what a happy land

Finally, I've sorted out my software and am able to bring some exclusive pictures of our Crazy Golf tournament from a few weeks ago. It was an odd day, with the Strand living down to every childhood memory - although the addition of a "Worldwide Travelling Theme Park", which was definitely not just a funfair with pretensions, did add a little bit of colour and an endless soundtrack of R&B (plus Crazy Frog). Anyway, here are some pics of people playing:

And here are the pics of Keef realising he's won (by three shots), Jesus giving him his prize, and Darren preparing the celebratory meal that evening (yes there is acutally food on that barbecue - unsuprisingly it came out 'Well Done'):

What a day!!
Update: Click on the picture of the competitors lined up, and check out how deformed it makes everyone look. Either the photo has been distorted somewhere in the blogging process or you guys are REALLY unphotogenic.....

Computer says no

Q. What's worse than a ropey transvestite?

A. A ropey transvestite's ropey look-a-like.

From the name Littler Britain, and the crazy perspective on the picture of 'Vicky Pollard', I initially thought this was an agency specialising in dwarf LB look-a-likes. How good would that be? And who would play Dennis Waterman?!!

Which T-Shirt is better?

This is mainly for Big Stu as an idea of what he can get me for my birthday but do I ask for Waller or Carolgees or any number of fine t-shirts here
Input would gladly be appreciated. And for those of you that have received an invite to Fantasy Football, sign up already, anyone that would like an invite let me know and I will email it to you.

Our survey says

It's looking increasingly likely that I might finally be in a position to buy an iPod, and fill it with all manner of nonsense to keep me sane while I'm in Japan. However, before I get to the real fun part of putting together my own random playlists (e.g. 'The 1993 Festive 50' and 'Top 10 Suede Tunes') there's an important decision to be made - what should I have engraved on the back of it?

My only ideas so far are "I've Got The Music In Me" which, despite (mis)quoting what will surely be one of my most-played, is cheesey beyond all belief. Or "Life Goes Better With A Little Bit Of Razzmatazz" (too Pulp?) or "I've only got a little soul" (another Pulp reference but nice pun).

Anyone got any good suggestions? Keep 'em music based and clean please.
